The antidote to the oncoming sweltering summer days? Fresh fruit tossed into ice-cold wine glasses filled to the brim with rosé. And clearly Driscoll’s is well aware of our go-to summer vino habits, as the California-based seller of fresh berries has recently developed two rosé-flavored berries we can’t wait to get our hands on: Rosé Berries.
In strawberry and raspberry form, the limited-edition Rosé Berries are described as “sweet as summer.”
“Our new Rosé Berries have a unique, complex flavor that will heighten your summer berry dishes,” the Driscoll’s website states. “The blush color comes from a natural blend of light and dark berries mixed with the power of the sun.”
The Rosé Berries, which are not genetically modified, are further described as having sweet, peachy notes and finished off with floral notes. As far as texture is concerned, the berries are described as “smooth, silky and creamy.”
These Rosé Berries are also as fleeting as the summer months — they’re only available June through September at select locations. On the west coast, you can find them at Whole Foods in northern California, and on the east coast, they’re available for purchase via online grocer FreshDirect.
Driscoll’s other limited-edition berries include its Sweetest Batch berries, which are specially picked for their sweet flavor. “Each batch meets our Joy Makers’ rigorous sweetness standards. They’re a tasty and natural treat to brighten up your summer picnics and afternoon desserts,” the website states.
The Sweetest Batch strawberries are available June through September at Whole Foods in Northern California and Wegmans and FreshDirect on the east coast, and the Sweetest Batch raspberries are available July through September, only at Whole Foods in northern California.
As for the rest of us, let’s keep our fingers crossed that the Rosé Berries and Sweetest Batch berries make their way to the rest of the U.S. of A. We’re jonesing to try these berries, stat.
