With just two days to go before the London Marathon, those taking part are getting all the preparations underway.
Now, there’s no denying that running 42.2km will be rewarding enough for anyone participating – particularly those doing so for various charities.
But there are a number of freebies and deals for marathon runners to snap up, too, as organisations push the boat out for the mammoth athletic event.
Here are some of the best to get in on this year – with some available now as well as after the race.
We Are Bother
Once runners have completed the race, they can tag @wearebother in an Instagram post or story and they’ll receive a code for a free ‘recovery bundle’ – with any £50 purchase.
The pack, worth over £30, contains Phizz multi vitamin and hydration tablets, organic rice cakes, 1kg peanut butter, coconut water and 1kg of Epsom salts.
Sports Direct
The high street chain is getting in on the action by offering 15% off its entire running kit range, exclusively at the Oxford Street flagship store. Perhaps a good one if you need to stock up on any bits last-minute.
Deliveroo x Coco di Mama
Deliveroo is giving away 1,000 vouchers to help runners prepare for the big event – with the code ‘RUNPASTA5.’ Recent research from the food delivery company found 62.8% of runners said pasta would be their meal of choice before a long-distance race – so they’ve teamed up with Coco di Mama to run this promotion.
Iceni Silver
The period wear brand is offering runners a 15% discount on their underwear with the code ‘MARATHON15.’
Stretch Inc
Stretch Inc is giving a free assisted stretch to all marathon runners – something that will no doubt be needed after a gruelling 26 miles. They can sign up for one here.
Oxford Tube
The 24-hour coach service, travelling direct from Oxford to London, has announced it will offer free return travel to London Marathon runners on October 2 and 3.
C2c
Similarly, C2c is offering free train tickets to runners this weekend. The company says those taking part must provide either their runner’s number of finishing medal when buying a ticket to get a free pass.
Levitex
The sleep company is running a 15% off promotion on sleep posture pillows for anyone taking part with the code ‘RUN15.’
Protein Rebel
Sports nutrition company Protein Rebel is providing runners with 20% off its vegan and cricket-based protein powders until Tuesday 5 October. The offer is available online – just use the code ‘RUN20’ at the checkout.
Crosstown
Anyone participating in the London Marathon can snap up a free coffee at Crosstown when purchasing a doughnut in store. All they need to do is show their 2021 medal when ordering.
