Coronavirus warning – the fizzing pain on your skin you shouldn’t ignore

Coronavirus is an infectious disease that has been confirmed in more than 11 million people across the world. You could be at risk of the virus if you develop a numb fizzing pain all over your body, it’s been claimed.

The UK lockdown is slowly being eased, as shoppers are now allowed to explore the high-street in England, provided they remain socially-distanced.

You can also visit someone else’s garden, as long as the person you’re visiting isn’t shielding, and there aren’t more than six people in the garden at once.

But the government has still advised the public to remain indoors as much as possible, in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus.

You may be at risk of coronavirus infection if you develop a strange tingling feeling on your skin.

A number of coronavirus patients have reported the sensation, which has also been described as though the skin feels like it’s on fire.

Patients claimed that they had a burning pain all over their body, and had an electric feeling on their skin.

The sensation hasn’t been confirmed as an official symptom of coronavirus.

But, scientists have claimed that the strange feeling may be linked to a changing immune system in patients.

“There’s a widespread immune response that is happening,” said Dr Waleed Javaid, the director of infection prevention and control at Mount Sinai Downtown, in New York.

Dr Javaid told Today: “Our immune cells get activated so a lot of chemicals get released throughout our body and that can present or feel like there’s some fizzing.

“When our immune response is acting up, people can feel different sensations…

“I have heard of similar experiences in the past with other illnesses.”

But, just because you develop a tingling sensation on your skin, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have coronavirus.

The feeling, which is also known as peripheral neuropathy, may be caused by a number of health conditions, including diabetes, a vitamin B12 deficiency, and even rheumatoid arthritis.

You should consider speaking to a doctor if you have a persistent tingling pain in your feet, or if it’s affecting you’re balance.

The tingling sensation is more likely to be caused by coronavirus if it’s accompanied by any of the more common symptoms.

The most common symptoms of coronavirus include a high fever, and a new continuous cough.

Shortness of breath and a loss of smell or taste have also been linked to the infection.

Some patients have also reported diarrhoea, headaches, and even a widespread rash.

More than 45,000 people have died from coronavirus in the UK.
