Barneys New York Honors Farrah Fawcett With Limited-Edition Lipstick

A limited-edition Farrah Fawcett lipstick launches Monday exclusively at Barneys New York on the ninth anniversary of her death. Farah by Nude Envie will retail for $38 with proceeds benefiting the Farrah Fawcett Foundation for cancer research and prevention. Fawcett died from cancer at the age of 62.In addition to availability in select Barneys’ stores, the rosy shade of nude pink will be sold on barneys.com and Nudenvie.com. The project was conceived by Barneys New York resident makeup artist, Patrick Foley. Based in Beverly Hills, Foley was a close personal friend of Fawcett’s and envisioned the lipstick as a way to honor and mark the anniversary of her death. Foley approached Nude Envie founder and creative director Isabel Madison to create the “Farrah” pink color the actress favored. “Farrah had that perfect California girl look — she liked a baby pink with a softness to it. This color flatters the teeth and skin and is on-trend with what is happening in cosmetics,” Foley said. “Farrah would blend colors together to get this exact look. She was often all natural with no make up but never left the house without her lipstick.”Alana Stewart, president of the Farrah Fawcett Foundation called the lipstick “the perfect summer pink and Farrah would have loved it.” Fawcett’s friend and former co-star in “Charlie’s Angels,” added the color brightens the face. “Just like Farrah always did with that magical smile,” she stated.Fawcett was known not only for her acting roles, but also as a style trendsetter. Her famous blonde tresses helped put hairdresser Jose Eber on the map. A poster with her in a red bathing suit and her tousled hair sold more than 20 million copies. The launch comes on the heels of MAC’s announcement earlier this week of an exclusive honoring another deceased legend, Aaliyah. MAC also released a posthumous collection honoring Selena in 2016. Over the years, the beauty industry has frequently honored style icons who have passed away.
