In a new interview with The Guardian, Pink is opening up about the ups and downs of her marriage to Carey Hart and the struggles of monogamy in general.
“There are moments where I look at [Carey] and he is the most thoughtful, logical, constant…he’s like a rock. He’s a good man. He’s a good dad. He’s just the kind of dad I thought he’d be and then some,” Pink said, adding that she doesn’t always feel that way about him.
“And then I’ll look at him and go: I’ve never liked you. There’s nothing I like about you. We have nothing in common. I don’t like any of the sh*t you like. I don’t ever wanna see you again,” she explained, then saying that two weeks later things will be all good again.
Pink and Carey, a former motocross racer, met in 2001, and married in 2006. They separated between 2008 and 2010, and a year and a half after they reconciled, they welcomed their first child, a daughter, Willow. Pink gave birth to their second child, Jameson, in 2016.
Pink then went on to admit that she had Carey have experienced their share of dry spells over the past 16 years together.
“Then you’ll go through times when you haven’t had sex in a year. Is this bed death? Is this the end of it? Do I want him? Does he want me?” she explained. “Monogamy is work! But you do the work and it’s good again.”
Fortunately, things appear to be good right now, as Carey recently posted a photo on Instagram gushing about his wife. “Congrats to my bad ass wife @pink !!!!! She can do it all,” he wrote. “Bad ass biker woman, amazing mother, best friend, and platinum selling artists! Congrats on the amazing album release today, and I can’t wait to see you kick ass on Saturday Night Live tomorrow! Love you baby.”
