Ovarian cancer may be one of the most devastating diagnoses to receive. According to the most recent statistics from the American Cancer Society, it’s estimated that more than 22,000 people will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and, sadly, more than 14,000 of them will die as a result of it. Ovarian cancer ranks fifth in cancer deaths for women, and although it frequently appears in older women (around 63 years and older), per the American Cancer Society, there have been instances in which women in their 20s and 30s have been diagnosed.
While the numbers attached to ovarian cancer feel scary, maybe we can give a little bit of comfort in presenting to you a list of venerable famous women who have fought and (at the time we’re writing this) survived their battle with this disease. The following women were diagnosed with ovarian cancer at a variety of ages, come from a multitude of backgrounds and worked hard to defeat their diagnosis. Check out which famous ovarian cancer survivors are in our lineup.
