Hospitals are putting thousands of lives at risk by frequently overdosing diabetics with insulin, a report reveals.
Some 9,600 patients with diabetes suffered life-threatening ‘hypo’ episodes in NHS hospitals last year after they were given too much insulin, the Diabetes UK report said.
The mistakes are among 260,000 medication errors suffered by diabetics during hospital stays last year.
