“Average hair density and thickness was superior in the steroid plus KRG group,” she said.
According to Dr Fox, ginseng has been shown to have various functions within the dermal papilla.
The dermal papilla cells play a key role in forming and regenerating the hair follicle.
As Dr Fox explained, Ginseng helps to prevent the apoptosis (death and destruction) of dermal papilla cells.

It also has anti-testosterone effects.
Testosterone can cause hair follicles shrink, thereby encouraging hair loss.
Other ways to correct hair loss
If natural remedies yield no results, wigs are available on the NHS,
But you may have to pay unless you qualify for financial help, explains the health body.
There are also pros and cons to different types of wigs.
As the NHS explains, synthetic wigs only last six to nine months and can be itchy and hot
Real-hair wigs, on the other hand, last three to four years and look more natural than synthetic wigs.
