The Girl Scouts just announced a brand-new cookie variety, so make space for even more boxes alongside your Tagalongs and Do-si-dos! The new cookie is Caramel Chocolate Chip, a gluten-free chewy cookie made with caramel, semisweet chocolate chips, and a hint of sea salt.
Caramel Chocolate Chip cookies will go on sale during the 2019 cookie season. The new variety joins Toffee-tastic, which was introduced in 2015, as part of the Girl Scouts’ gluten-free cookie lineup. The introduction of this new cookie means that everywhere in the country, there will be a gluten-free cookie available for purchase, which is great news for anyone with a gluten intolerance.
The rest of the non-gluten-free lineup includes S’mores, Thin Mints, Caramel deLites/Samoas, Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs, Shortbread/Trefoils, Do-si-dos/Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Lemonades, Savannah Smiles, and Thanks-a-Lots.
But there’s a catch: Caramel Chocolate Chip cookies, along with Toffee-Tastic cookies, won’t be on sale everywhere. Each variety will only be available in certain parts of the country. Contact your local Girl Scouts council to see which option is available in your area — or if you’ll have to track down scouts across the country to snag some.
When you stock up on Girl Scout cookies, you know your cash is going to a good cause. All of the money you spend supports your local troop. That means while you’re going through a whole box while watching Netflix, you’re also helping educate the next generation.
