Meghan Markle’s Whole Foods Disguise Revealed

No selfies, no politics in public, no eating garlic while traveling, and the list of royal family no-no’s goes on for the actor formerly known as just Meghan Markle now that she’s the Duchess of Sussex. But apparently, there’s one thing Meghan can do: go grocery shopping alone.

Meghan’s itinerary already seems busy enough — promoting and launching her new charity cookbook, Together: Our Community Cookbook and attending 1,267 events with her beau Prince Harry, among other things. So, one would think typical, everyday chores — including grocery shopping — would be delegated to someone else.

Wrong!

According to People, a source told the publication Meghan reportedly goes incognito to several places, including Pilates and the salon.

Her disguise of choice? A baseball cap.

People’s source continues to say that, in the past, “the only other place she has visited regularly is Whole Foods, which is little more than five minutes away from Kensington Palace. That way she can quickly sneak in and out without anyone noticing it’s her,” the source alleges.

Prince Harry and Meghan seem to be the only royals able to live an as-close-to-normal life as possible.

According to a 2017 interview with Newsweek, Prince Harry said, "People would be amazed by the ordinary life William and I live. I do my own shopping."

"Sometimes, when I come away from the meat counter in my local supermarket, I worry someone will snap me with their phone," he continues. "But I am determined to have a relatively normal life, and if I am lucky enough to have children, they can have one too. Even if I was king, I would do my own shopping.”

And Meghan’s mother could soon be joining her on these incognito grocery store runs. Vanity Fair reports that mom Doria Ragland could get her own place in the U.K. soon to spend more time with Meghan.

“It is something they are talking about," a source told the publication. "I think the idea is that Doria will have a pied-à-terre here so that she has her own space. She wants the ability to be here more often, especially if grandchildren come along.”

So, next time you’re in the U.K. area and happen to be at 63 – 97 Kensington High St., keep an eye out for a dark-haired woman in a baseball cap. It could be the Duchess of Sussex.
