You love to indulge in your favorite fast food or fast casual restaurants. But does indulging always mean you have to be unhealthy? Not necessarily. Sometimes, you can have your cake and eat it too — you just have to choose healthier menu options. We ranked every Chick-fil-A sandwich (plus the nuggets) from unhealthiest to healthiest* to help you decide which option you should choose next time you want to stop at your favorite chicken spot.
What’s the healthiest Chick-fil-A option? | Chick-Fil-A via Instagram
10. Spicy deluxe chicken sandwich
Calories: 540
Fat: 25 grams
This sandwich has all the bells and whistles. It’s spicy and loaded with pickles, lettuce, tomato, and pepper jack cheese. But with all those toppings comes added fat and calories, so it’s not the healthiest sandwich on the menu. Actually, it’s the unhealthiest.
9. Chick-fil-A deluxe sandwich
Calories: 500
Fat: 23 grams
Similar to the spicy deluxe sandwich, the extra cheese is really what puts this deluxe sandwich over the edge. If you’re not concerned with the health aspect at all (which would sort of defeat the purpose of this article), go ahead and order this sandwich.
8. Chick-fil-A spicy chicken sandwich
Calories: 450
Fat: 19 grams
This is very similar to the deluxe spicy sandwich, minus the “deluxe.” Since it’s missing the cheese, it’s quite a few calories less than the deluxe version. It’s also without the lettuce and tomato. It isn’t the best choice on the menu, but we’re getting there.
7. Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich
Calories: 440
Fat: 19 grams
If you forego the spicy option, you’ll save yourself a whole 10 calories. The fat on these two sandwiches is the same, and the calorie difference is basically irrelevant. Again, it isn’t the best option on the menu, but if you’re dying to have one, it also isn’t the worst.
6. Grilled chicken club sandwich
Calories: 440
Fat: 16 grams
Anything grilled is almost always going to be healthier than something that’s breaded and fried. You can get a grilled chicken club (filled with bacon, cheese, lettuce, and tomato) for less fat than a breaded chicken sandwich with none of the works. Yes, it’s missing that breaded coating, but it’s worth it for the added nutritional benefit.
5. Chick-n-strips
Calories: 330
Fat: 16 grams
If you’re really not looking for anything grilled, go with the chicken strips. They’re only 330 calories, which isn’t bad at all for an entrée. They are pretty heavy on the fat, though, so maybe eat a few when you order them and save half for later. It’s an almost-guilt-free way to get your chicken fix.
4. Grilled chicken cool wrap
Calories: 350
Fat: 14 grams
Another alternative to the grilled chicken club is this grilled chicken wrap. While it does have 20 more calories than the chick-n-strips, the wrap is made with flax seeds, which gives it an added nutritional benefit compared to other options. It’s also packed with red cabbage and carrots, both of which are filled with vitamins and minerals. It’s not the healthiest option in terms of fat and calories, but it does have an extra perk with those veggies.
3. Chick-fil-A nuggets
Calories: 260
Fat: 12 grams
If you’re deciding between the chick-n-strips or the nuggets, save yourself the fat and calories and go with the nuggets. They’re breaded and delicious, but they’re a bit of a smaller portion compared to others on the list, which helps them on fat and calories. 260 is a low calorie count for a meal, and 12 grams of fat isn’t terrible, either. They’re definitely an option to keep in mind.
2. Grilled chicken sandwich
Calories: 310
Fat: 6 grams
It’s hard to go wrong with a grilled chicken sandwich. That’s the case anywhere, and the same goes for Chick-fil-A. Their grilled chicken sandwich has only 310 calories and six grams of fat, making it the healthiest sandwich option on the menu. You’ll get plenty of protein without the added “breaded and fried” aspect, so it should definitely be a top choice for your next Chick-fil-A meal.
1. Grilled nuggets
Calories: 140
Fat: 3.5 grams
The hands-down healthiest entrée option at Chick-Fil-A? The grilled nuggets. Somehow, even grilled nuggets taste good from Chick-fil-A. They’re hard to find anywhere else, but pair them with some of Chick-fil-A’s iconic dipping sauces, and you’ll hardly remember you’re eating healthy.
