Tracey Travis, executive vice president and chief financial officer of the Estée Lauder Cos., has been named to Facebook's board.
"Tracey has a strong finance and corporate leadership background, not just in her role as cfo at the Estée Lauder Cos., but also serving on the board at Accenture," said Facebook chairman and chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg in a statement. Facebook also appointed Nancy Killefer, a retired McKinsey executive and government worker, to the board.
"We have a lot we need to get done in the coming years and I think their experience is going to be very valuable. They're both very accomplished business leaders and I'm looking forward to working with them," Zuckerberg said.
"I am very optimistic about the power of technology and innovation to change our world for the better. Building community has never been more important and is fundamental to Facebook's mission," Travis said in a statement.
Travis has been cfo of Lauder since 2012. She joined from Ralph Lauren, where she was cfo for seven years. Before that, she was senior vice president of finance for the Limited Brands. Travis has also held roles at Rexam and PepsiCo.
Travis' tenure at Lauder has coincided with a period of massive sales gains from the beauty company. In its most recent quarter, Lauder sales gained 15 percent to $4.62 billion.
