But these days, most of us are breaking fast at home, even on the weekends. So how do you make it feel special? Giada de Laurentiis and her daughter, Jade, have the solution. First of all, you make delightfully fluffy lemon buttermilk pancakes. Then comes the secret: you make it rain chocolate chips.
Giada and Jade and cook together a lot, and Jade is on the Giadzy Instagram feed pretty often. They do cute things together, like make DIY sugar scrub, and Jade recently showed fans how to make cookies out of cake mix, an essential self-isolation baking hack.
But according to Giada’s story on her Instagram account for her blog Giadzy, her daughter Jade’s favorite thing to cook is pancakes. And to make sure they’re up to Jade’s standards, Giada says you have to “make it Jade style by adding approx 10 cups of chocolate chips.” That’s the exact pancake-to-chocolate ratio we love!
Giada shared the link to the pancake recipe she uses as the base for this chocolate spectacular, and they look great. They’re not sweetened, which means they take well to adding as many chocolate chips as you can stand. They also have a significant amount of tang, thanks to the buttermilk and lemon zest, which means adding the chocolate chips is totally justified…right? It’s all about balance!
