This Guy Reviewed the Best Low-Carb, Keto-Friendly Frozen Foods You Can Buy at Wal-Mart

Joe Duff, also known as YouTube’s Diet Chef, has previously given his subscribers the rundown on keto-friendly options that they can order at popular chains like Starbucks and McDonald’s. In his latest video, he checks out the low-carb frozen food products available in Wal-Mart’s freezer aisle.

Throughout the video, Duff reviews several items in the Realgood frozen food range: the pizza bagels come out at just 1 net carb per bagel; the Realgood chicken enchiladas have 2 net carbs per serving; the stuffed chicken breasts with creamed spinach and artichoke have 4 net carbs per serving; and the Realgood chicken alfredo wraps have 4 net carbs per wrap.

When it comes to frozen meat products, Duff is a fan of Applegate breakfast sausage. The chicken and maple have 2 carbs per 3 sausages, while the turkey ones have just one carb per 3 links of sausage. Just remember, he adds, to use keto-friendly maple syrup when making breakfast.

He also recommends the Steak-umm sliced steaks. “A lot of the time when you get frozen meat at the grocery store, companies add fillers to the meat, so you’re actually getting less meat and just paying for fillers,” says Duff. “Not with this stuff, it is 100 per cent beef, and you’re getting over a pound of beef in this package.”

The video also includes a single zero carb option: Bonafide’s chicken bone broth. “My plan for it is to make some low-carb keto chicken noodle soup,” says Duff.

Duff also covers a number of Green Giant vegetable sides, including cauliflower rice (2 grams of carbs per serving), and zucchini noodles, which can be an easy spaghetti substitute, and contain just 1 net carb per portion. “Sometimes it’s just nice to pay for convenience,” says Duff. “You don’t have to spiralize, you don’t have to clean up anything, it’s just really easy.”

However, not all of the Green Giant range is low-carb; the cauliflower gnocchi, which sounds pretty keto-friendly, contains 84 grams of carbs per bag, and the brand’s cauliflower pizza crust contains over 60 grams of carbs per serving, in contrast to the 3 net carbs in the Cauliflower Foods pizza crust.
