  • Hospitals have attempted their own versions of popular Christmas anthems

The NHS may be facing another bleak winter, with warnings that the unprecedented pressure could be even worst than last year’s.

But hardworking medics across the health service have still managed to somehow find time to bring cheer to thousands this festive period – and not just by treating patients.

Many hospitals have attempted their own versions of some of the most popular Christmas anthems, including a Last Christmas improvised to encourage people to get their annual flu jab.

Medics from St Mary’s Hospital’s Great Western Ward had a unique take on Elton John’s ‘Step Into Christmas’.

Dressed in funny Christmas tree-shaped hats, the staff embracing the festive spirit include nurses and cleaners.

Their six-minute long rendition of the festive anthem saw one nurse even attempt to floss – the latest viral dance craze.

While another nurse forced herself into a tiny child’s play house in the hilarious clip, branded ‘brilliant’ by viewers.

The video even ended with two minutes of deleted scenes, including comical scenes of a nurse stuck inside a plastic car designed for children.

Instead of singing the usual lyrics, they decided to offer viewers of three minute-long video health advice, including to ‘start moving’ and ‘get walking’.

But one viewer was not so happy with what he watched. In response to the footage, William Taylor asked: ‘Why did you do this?’
