Only the juice of a discounter was found to be only for good.

The Stiftung Warentest has examined 24 ready-to-spritzers, among other things, Lift, Gerolsteiner and Adelholzener.

A good overall only creates a judgment: The spritzer, with Apple juice from concentrate with 39 cents per litre, one of the cheapest in the Test and is sold at a Discounter.

Seven products were awarded the grade of “deficient” and seven are rated as “adequate”.

Apple juice is a Mix of Apple juice and sparkling water. As the Stiftung Warentest declared, the content of Apple juice, at least 50 per cent, in the Test, he is often at 60 percent.

Some products, especially organic Apple cider spritzers, contain juice. However, most are made with Apple juice from Apple juice concentrate.

Sugar may not admit the producers.

Among the 24 rated Apple spritzers – known brands such as Lift, Sinalco and rhönsprudel, trade, and discount brands such as from Aldi, Lidl and Rewe, as well as Bioschorlen of food, Fritz-spray or Voelkel.

According to the testers 15 products Apple juice from concentrate, seven products exclusively juice and two contain a mixture of Apple juice and concentrate juice.

The spritzers were tasted and on foreign sugar, unwanted substances, pathogens and spoilage germs examined. In addition, aroma have been tested content and chemical quality and the marking of a rating.

Juice from spoiled Apples-and-dirty processing

Almost all of the ready-to-spritzers offer a cause for criticism. 14 of the 24 tested drinks a deficient or sufficient.

The reason for the bad results: The analyses suggest that most of the producers do not process the good juice qualities.

In some spritzers about the used concentrate was not diluted correctly to juice back – there is a lack of Apple flavor. In part, the aromatic content is low, although the spritzers are beefed up, according to the list of ingredients with natural Apple flavor.

In addition, the testers were bothered by the unclean processing.

As have been demonstrated in some spritzers, which contain only juice, metabolic products of microorganisms, such as yeast, in proper Apples, and clean-produced juice in these quantities do not occur.

In two products, the levels were so high that only rotten Apples, or improper processing may be the cause.

Average unit taste with a flat Apple touch

Two of Apple juice spritzers – both Organic – impressed the testers at the tasting: This aromatic taste, complex, powerful with hints of ripe Apple and fruit tart.

Many of the products in the Test, but with average taste with a flat Apple touch.

Two Bioschorlen contain a comparatively large amount of Methanol. Such quantities are formed, for example, when manufacturers treat the Apples strongly with enzymes to increase juice yield.

Although this is allowed, the Methanol concentrations, however, are for no good manufacturing practice. A health risk but is not to be feared.

Bioschorle scored in the flavor of the best grade

Just a spritzer creates a good overall verdict: Wiesgart of Aldi Nord is one of 39 cents per litre of the cheapest in the Test.

The naturally cloudy Bioschorle food from the generated juice for three euros per litre in the taste of the top grade.

However, concern was expressed in this product a confusing label, so that it was only for a “satisfactory”.

No product is added sugar

For all the criticism, but there are also Pleasing: pollutants and germs not to tarnish the enjoyment. No product is added sugar.

However, the bring ready-to-spritzers already, by nature, a lot of sugar. A half-Liter in an average of 28 grams of sugar – the equivalent of about nine sugar cubes.

As a thirst quencher in everyday life, you are good, therefore, only now and again.

Alternative Thirst Quencher

Pure water extinguishers on the other hand is a great thirst.

Or to mix his juice himself. Experts advise here is to a good Apple juice, on 100 milliliters of more than 45 calories, mix with water in a ratio of 1:3.

“So you have a good isotonic liquid,” explains nutritionist Monika Bischoff from the centre for nutritional medicine and prevention, in Munich, in a communication to the news Agency dpa.

“The particles have the same composition as blood plasma and are absorbed by the body quickly,” says the scientist, who has another tip for an alternative thirst-quencher:

“Alcohol-free wheat beer is isotonic, has even less calories than Apples, and more B-vitamins.”

Other experts may argue but sports activities to juice instead of alcohol-free beer.

Because physical activity will tend to consume sugar and sodium through sweating.

“But this is not so in the beer, the nutrients contained in it are less suitable,” says the nutrition expert Jens Luther, technical officer of the consumer center of Saxony, in an older dpa-message. (ad)
