Amy Schumer Just Had The Best Response To Mom-Shamers On Instagram

  • Amy Schumer just shared a photo on Instagram to respond to backlash from doing a stand-up show.
  • In the photo, Amy is sitting on her bed in her underwear using a breast pump.
  • Celebrities including Selma Blair commented, “Who the fudge would shame a mom for doing what she does?”

Amy Schumer is a new mom, but she’s not missing one hilarious beat. She’s back on stage while still doing all the the nitty gritty details from her new mom life—and that includes sharing a photo of herself using what nearly all new moms use: a breast pump.

Amy posted the photo (taken by husband Chris Fischer’s sister, Molly) to Instagram Tuesday, showing herself on the edge of her bed in her underwear and bra with two breast pumps attached. “Sending out love to the moms shaming me for doing standup last night,” she wrote in the caption.

Of course, this is in response to backlash on the photo Amy posted Monday night of herself back doing standup at the Comedy Cellar. That post in particular garnered tons of well-wishes and praise, including comments like “I can only imagine what a pump room looks like at a comedy club. Welcome back. #rockstar!” and “How are you back at work? Are you human?”

Still, others weren’t such a fan of Amy’s return to work. One commenter said, “Already???? That’s insane!!! And inhumane. Contract or not you need to be allowed at least 6 weeks for maternity.” Another foreshadowed the mom-shaming to come: “And…here comes the mom shaming…..ughhhhhhhhhhh,” to which Amy replied, “”I’ve always wanted to be mom shamed!!!”

Amy’s newest breast-pumping photo also garnered tons of comments from her 8.8 million followers—mostly positive—including from Selma Blair herself. “”Who the fudge would shame a mom for doing what she does?” Selma commented, adding, “and how the hell did you do it? #schumerwomen”

Clearly, Amy is not here for mom-shaming comments and intends to do exactly what she wants—which right now is getting back to work and caring for her newborn, and she looks like she’s rocking both responsibilities with ease (and humor, of course).
